Standing on a rocky headland just inside the Scottish border in East Lothian, Dunbar is a peaceful resort town of sandstone buildings, broad sandy beaches, and notably two harbours. It has a long history, having been occupied from at least AD75, and has been fought over many times in the wars between Scotland and England.
